This sub was the third phase of a project started by Florida Power and Light in 2005. It was a stand-alone 125MVA – 230kV wind farm collection substation that tied into the two previously built substations. It required rerouting the transmission line and reconfiguring the bus and relay protection of the existing substations along with the new construction. From ground breaking to energization was 96 days. Paradigm was the prime contractor to Nextera Energy.
